The days are getting shorter. The nights are getting colder. The sun is clocking out early without asking anyone’s permission.
That can only mean one thing:
WINTERFINDING.
Winterfinding is an old Norse seasonal tradition marking the transition from summer into the colder half of the year. Essentially, our ancestors looked around, noticed everything getting darker and colder, and said:
“Welp. Winter found us.”
They prepared firewood and food for the long months ahead.
We have a taproom.
Same basic survival strategy.
Conveniently, September 21 is also World Gratitude Day, so while we contemplate the impending seasonal darkness, we're taking a moment to appreciate what really matters:

Innergize Day is an actual holiday dedicated to slowing down, looking inward, recharging your batteries, and taking care of yourself.
Which sounds exhausting.
So we’ve simplified the process.
STEP 1: Come to Iron Ox.
STEP 2: Acquire beer.
STEP 3: Sit down.
STEP 4: Stare peacefully into the middle distance.
STEP 5: Refuse to solve anyone else’s problems for at least 20 minutes.

We’re not saying beer is therapy.

Some open mics promise comedy. Some promise music. This one has glitter coming out of its backside, so prepare yourself for a fabulously funny evening.
This week’s featured act is Noah Radke, with Matt Farrell stepping in as our guest host—presumably because someone needs to maintain a tiny shred of adult supervision while Noah gallops through the evening on a mythical fruit-powered steed.
And because September 24th is National Bluebird of Happiness Day, we’re cranking the positivity up to an almost suspicious level. Expect metaphorical bluebirds chirping encouragement like “You got this!”, “Good people exist!”, and “Ordering another beer is absolutely a form of self-care!”
🎤 Comedy, music, stories, poetry, questionable decisions—we welcome it all.

Stickee Eats is Back at Iron Ox! 🌾🍺
We’re wrapping up National Wild Rice Week the only sensible way we know how: with cold beer and a whole lot of ridiculously good Lao food.
Stickee Eats is rolling back into Iron Ox on Friday, September 25th, serving up their incredible Lao dishes packed with fresh herbs, bold flavors, crispy goodness, and enough sticky rice to make abandoning your low-carb aspirations feel completely reasonable.
If you’ve had Stickee Eats before, you already know the drill: come hungry. If you haven’t, this is your chance to correct that unfortunate oversight.
Grab your crew, order something delicious, snag a beer, and settle in. Because technically we’re celebrating wild rice... but mostly we’re celebrating the fact that Stickee Eats is here and we get to eat it.

Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox have apparently stopped by for a pint—and Babe is looking suspiciously like a giant blue Scotch Highlander. Everything was going great until Paul decided to demonstrate his lumberjack skills and dropped a tree directly onto somebody’s car. Who parks in the middle of the forest, anyway??
In his defense, the tree did fall exactly where gravity told it to...

🪓 Paul: technically accomplished his objective.
🐂 Babe: refusing to get involved.

This Monday, the support group is in session at Iron Ox Brewing — and conveniently, it’s National Drink a Beer Day, so for once your Monday beer isn’t procrastination. It’s participation in a nationally recognized observance.
And because every Monday is Industry Night, our fellow beer and wine industry peeps get $1 OFF ALL POURS. Brewers, winemakers, bartenders, cellar rats, servers, sales reps, distributors, and all the other brave souls who spend their working hours making sure everyone else has a drink — this one’s for you.
